 Our first African- American   president represents today a role model for our new generations to come.  His way of presenting his messages throughout his campaign has opened up a numerous number of doors particularly for this new generation of Black-American teenagers who for decades have been stagnated with little opportunities for achieving higher goals and expectations. Also this new historical momentum in civil rights will benefit to other minority groups namely Hispanics and Asians.

 

This new dimensional leadership of Obama that has sold to our nation a new cluster of governmental propositions during his campaign now in his post inaugural days, I suppose and we all look forward to seeing positive actions on our Economic Recovery as first thing first.

 

Obama is a well articulated, assertive, inspirational and convincing public speaker that in a relatively short time has touched for unity the soul and heart of our nation.

 

Indeed the beginning of this year 2009 will certainly be a historical and unique year after all Americans and the nations around the world have watched attentively the swearing-in ceremony of our first African-American president.  I’m sure most of us feel enormously proud of him for his good intentions and for the way he accepts the challenges ahead of him.  We all recognize that this was a day of reunification and reflection of our many past years of bitter and long struggles for civil rights.  The

economical recovery calls for an arduous work and patience in the years to come.  The challenges of our new president obviously are more demanding and more high-risk today than ever before.  As he takes office he is inheriting now a stack of plates that looks much higher than the stack of plates Bush inherited from his predecessor Bill Clinton back in January, 2001.

 

The responsibilities of a manager call for working very closely with the team players in the floor shop, supervising that every detail is in place so we can get the right product or service delivered on time.  This sounds more like a description of an operational manager but not of a leader.  We have just elected a man to perform more as a leader than as a manager.  He needs to look at the “big picture” of the national and global issues for his term in office is to limited to get into details and this part of the job should be delegated to the specialists in every subject.

 

Our new president with such an enormous responsibility and authority has to be more visionary and act with a delicate sense of salesmanship to reconcile the energies of our nation’s leaders.

 

On our part, it is now time to get out of the comfort zone that has controlled our lives for many years.  Try to be a good manager, and better organizer of your own time and life.  If there is a problem that bothers you, address it as soon as possible.  Problems don’t get any better with time, the longer you wait the harder to fix it.
